New Beginnings for a New Blog

So, I am a total newbie to blogging. I read lots of blogs and a lot of my friends are bloggers, but I am just getting started.


I felt inspired to start a blog when I read an article called "Sharing the Gospel Using the Internet" by Elder M. Russell Ballard on lds.org. The article about how having a blog is important to let others know our testimonies and to share the gospel. As I read this article, I was reminded of my missionary experiences nearly 10 years ago. When I came home from my mission, I wondered how I would share the gospel with others and how I could continue that work. Here I have found a new opportunity to share my testimony and strengthen it at the same time.

I am usually a private person that does not like to share my personal life, but I have learned that sometimes our experiences in life help others that are going through the same things. I saw a movie the other day about a woman that lost her husband to cancer, she felt alone and her mother gave her some advice. She said that her daughter was not the only one in the world that felt alone but that feeling alone allowed others to be together in being alone. I have had many trials in my life like everyone, I am a single parent now and that can be pretty tough, but I find peace in my beliefs and I have happiness in being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Life isn't perfect, it is often hard, I know, I'm divorced; but the knowledge of the gospel has helped me through tough times in my life and helped me focus on the great things in life like my little boy and my family and new beginnings.



I am grateful for the opportunity to share a simple testimony that I know that Jesus Christ lives and that he died, was resurrected and following his example will help us draw closer to a Father in Heaven that knows us individually and loves us. I am grateful for a prophet on the earth, and that is just another witness to me that the Lord loves his children the same anciently as well as today. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and is a companion to the Bible in sharing the truth of His message. I am thankful for a knowledge that families can be together for eternity, and that death is not the end of this existence. I am grateful for the Atonement that allows me to repent and also for the comfort in knowing that He suffered for our pains and infirmities. (Alma 7:11-12). I have a testimony, but I strive to live my testimony everyday.
